The Selene Alabaster Column Sconce is a sculptural wall light hand-cut from genuine natural alabaster. Named after Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon, its slim vertical column glows with a soft, moonlit warmth when lit — and reads as a quiet piece of stone sculpture when off. Because every column is cut from real stone, the cloud-like veining and translucency of your piece are entirely unique.

The natural alabaster diffuses the integrated LED into a gentle, glare-free glow, filtering out harsh light for a calm, layered ambiance. Its clean linear silhouette elongates a wall and suits modern, minimalist, and "quiet luxury" interiors alike — beautiful singly, or mounted in symmetrical pairs to frame a bed, mirror, fireplace, or hallway.

Cut from Real Stone

Sections of Alabaster, One Slim Column

Each Selene is built from sections of genuine natural alabaster, joined into a single column. The clouding and veining run through the stone rather than sitting on its surface, and change slightly from section to section. Off, it reads as a slim column of pale stone; on, the veins show through as a soft, moonlit glow.

The fine lines where the sections meet are part of the construction, not cracks. Tone ranges from white to soft grey or amber, so yours will not match the photos exactly, and no two sconces are identical.

Why This One

Moonlight, Held in a Column of Stone

01

Light Held in Stone

The integrated LED sits inside the column, so you never see a bulb. Light passes through the alabaster and comes out as an even, glare-free glow.

02

A Slim Vertical Line

A narrow column that sits close to the wall and draws the eye upward, making a hallway, stair or vanity wall feel taller.

03

Made for Pairs

Two matching columns frame a mirror, a bed, a fireplace or a console with quiet symmetry. Choose a ×2 option to order two at once.

04

Dimmable, Warm or Cool

Choose warm or cool light at checkout, then dim it on a compatible LED wall dimmer for a low evening glow.

Finish & Glow

Gold or Black, Off or On

Tap either finish to switch it on. The LED sits inside the stone, so what glows is the alabaster itself.

Gold A warm metal frame that sits naturally with walnut, brass fittings and cream or green walls.
Black A crisp, graphic outline that stands out on pale plaster, tile or white panelling.
Switched off A slim column of white-to-grey stone; the veining is subtle and reads like marble.
Switched on Light passes through the stone and the veining deepens into a soft, moonlit pattern.

Installation

Hardwired, Like Any Wall Light

We recommend a licensed electrician for installation.

1 · Power off Switch off the circuit at the breaker before you start.
2 · Mount the plate Fix the mounting plate to a standard US wall junction box with the hardware supplied.
3 · Connect Black to live, white to neutral, green or bare copper to ground.
4 · Fit the column Attach the sconce and handle the alabaster gently; stone can chip if knocked.
5 · Dimmer To dim, connect it to a wall dimmer rated for LED loads.
Bathrooms Install in the dry zone, away from showers, tubs and direct spray.

The Material

Real Alabaster, Not Printed Resin

Linear stone-look sconces are often resin or acrylic. Here is what changes when the column is real stone.

Alabaster is a soft, translucent mineral that has been carved into lamps for centuries. Lit from inside, it glows warm and uneven, the way a thin slice of stone does when you hold it to the light. That depth is what a printed resin column cannot copy.

Natural Alabaster Faux Alabaster · Resin
The surface Natural stone with a soft satin face; the veins run through the material, not printed on top. Resin, acrylic or moulded glass with a printed or repeating pattern.
Lit Thin and thick areas glow differently, so the veining gains depth along the column. One flat brightness; the pattern sits on the surface.
Unlit Reads as a column of pale stone on the wall. Reads as plastic once you are close.
To the touch Cool, dense and solid, like marble. Light and warm, like plastic.
Over time Natural stone keeps its character; it does not yellow like plastic. Acrylic can yellow near a light source.

The short version: a print can copy the look of stone. It cannot copy the way real alabaster carries light.

Care & Cleaning

A Dry Cloth Is All It Needs

Dusting Switch off and let the column cool. Wipe with a soft, dry microfibre cloth.
Marks on the stone A barely damp cloth is fine for a mark; dry it straight away. Avoid sprays, chemicals and abrasive cleaners.
In a bathroom Keep it out of direct spray and let the room ventilate so condensation does not sit on the stone.
The metal frame Wipe with a soft dry cloth. Skip polishes and abrasive pads so the gold or black finish stays even.
The LED The LED is built in and needs no bulb changes. If it ever stops working, contact us under the 2-year warranty.
A chip in the stone Alabaster can chip if knocked. Send us a photo and we will help.
