The Mid-Century Wood & Glass Disc Table Lamp showcases a refined mid-century aesthetic with its curved wooden base and luminous amber glass disc. Its sculptural form adds visual interest to nightstands, consoles, or desks, introducing organic warmth and timeless character to any interior without overwhelming the space.
The combination of smooth wood and translucent glass creates subtle contrast and texture, enhancing surrounding surfaces with understated elegance. Designed as both a functional accent and a decorative object, this table lamp elevates the room with quiet sophistication and classic charm.
Why This One
A Disc of Amber Light in a Wooden Arch
Most table lamps hide their light behind a fabric shade. This one puts it on show: a single disc of amber glass, lit from behind, framed by a bent arch of wood.
Switched off, it is a small sculpture. Switched on, it is the warmest thing in the room.
Hand-Blown Amber Glass
Each disc is blown and shaped by hand, so the colour deepens slightly toward the edge and small variations in the glass are part of the piece.
A Curved Solid Wood Arch
The disc sits inside a single bent arch of solid wood with a walnut-colour finish — the kind of line mid-century furniture was built on.
Weighted Low, Hard to Knock Over
The base carries its weight close to the table, so the lamp stays put on a busy nightstand or beside a cat's favourite windowsill.
No Bulb to Buy
The LED is integrated and hidden behind the glass. Plug it in, click the inline switch, and the disc glows warm.
Buying a Pair
Two Nightstands, Two Lamps
Most of these go up in twos, either side of a bed or at each end of a console. Set the quantity to 2 and the discs are picked together, so both glow the same shade of amber.
The glass is hand-blown and the wood grain is natural, so a lamp ordered months later will not match the first one as closely.

Find Your Fit
Same Width, Two Heights
Both versions are 8.7″ across. The only choice is how tall the arch stands.
Short · H 9.8″
⌀ 8.7″ wide
22 × 25 cm
Nightstands, bookshelves and low side tables, where a taller lamp would crowd the shelf above or the headboard.
Tall · H 12.6″
⌀ 8.7″ wide
22 × 32 cm
Console tables, desks and entry tables, where the lamp needs a little more height to hold its own.
Both heights side by side — the short 9.8″ and the tall 12.6″.
| Beside a bed | The glowing disc should sit roughly at shoulder height when you are sitting up. On a standard nightstand, the 9.8″ is usually right. |
| On a console | Go for the 12.6″. A pair at either end of the console frames a mirror or artwork between them. |
| On a desk | The 12.6″ lifts the glow above the screen line, so it lights the desk softly without reflecting in the monitor. |
| A pair | Both sizes work as a pair. Two of the same height on matching nightstands look deliberate; mixing heights works on a long console. |
Off and On
Pale Amber by Day, Honey by Night
Tap either lamp to switch it on. Unlit, the glass is a soft amber disc; lit, the colour deepens and the wood catches the glow.

Tap to switch on
| By day | A disc of pale amber glass in a wooden arch. For most of the hours it sits on your table, it is a piece of decor rather than a lamp. |
| Switched on | The 12W LED sits behind the disc, so the glass deepens to honey and throws a soft pool of light onto the surface below. |
| What it lights | Accent light. It warms a corner, a nightstand or a console; pair it with a ceiling or floor lamp for reading. |
| The switch | On the cord, within reach of the table edge, so there is no feeling around the base in the dark. |
Where It Goes
A Small Lamp That Changes a Corner
Four places it works best, and which height to choose for each.

Entry ConsoleTall · 12.6″
The first thing you see coming home. One beside a bowl for keys, or a pair at either end framing a mirror.

BedsideShort · 9.8″
Bought in pairs more than any other way. Soft enough to leave on while you fall asleep.

Desk & StudyTall · 12.6″
Warm background light for evenings, lifted above the screen line so it never reflects in the monitor.

Living Room Side TableShort · 9.8″
Beside the sofa, low enough to read by and warm enough to leave on through the evening.
| Nightstands | The short 9.8″, in a matching pair. The glowing disc sits about shoulder height when you are sitting up in bed. |
| Consoles and entry tables | The tall 12.6″. A pair frames a mirror or artwork; one alone sits well off-centre beside a tray or a vase. |
| Desks | The tall version, set to one side of the screen so the glow falls on the desk rather than into your eyes. |
| Side tables and shelves | The short version — low enough to sit beside a sofa without blocking the view, and it fits under most shelf spacing. |
Buying a pair? set the quantity to 2. The glass is hand-blown, so we pick the two discs to match as closely as possible in tone.
The Design
When the Bulb Stopped Hiding
For most of lamp history the light was something to cover up: a bulb, a fabric shade, a room lit by reflection. Mid-century designers took the opposite view, and the light source became the shape of the object.
This lamp follows that line. The glow is a single disc of glass, held up by a bent arch of wood the way a frame holds a picture. Nothing is hidden: you see the light, the glass it passes through and the grain of the wood around it.
Wood, glass, light — and nothing else in the way.
The Materials
Wood You Can Feel, Glass You Can See Through

Hand-Blown Amber Glass
Blown and shaped by hand rather than pressed in a mould. Look closely and you may find a tiny bubble or a slight shift in tone — the marks of glass made one piece at a time.

Solid Wood, Walnut Finish
A natural wood arch and base with visible grain. No two lamps have exactly the same grain pattern, and the finish deepens slowly with years of light and handling.
Worth knowing: because both the glass and the wood are natural, the colour of your lamp can differ slightly from these photos. That is the material, not a defect.
The Materials, Compared
Blown Glass and Solid Wood, Not Acrylic and Veneer
Plenty of lamps copy this silhouette in moulded acrylic on a printed-grain base. Here is where the two part company.
| Glass & Solid Wood | Acrylic & Veneer | |
| The glow | Light travels through hand-blown glass, so the colour deepens toward the thicker edge and shifts as you move around it. | A flat, even panel of colour, identical on every unit. |
| Switched off | Amber glass and real wood grain — it reads as an object in its own right. | Reads as a switched-off lamp; printed grain repeats and the plastic stays flat. |
| Weight and feel | About 3 kg of solid wood and glass, weighted low and hard to knock over. | Light and hollow; easy to tip on a busy nightstand. |
| Over the years | Wood deepens in tone with light and handling; glass does not yellow. | Acrylic yellows near heat and scratches; veneer edges lift. |
| One of a kind | Each disc is blown by hand and each arch has its own grain, so no two lamps are identical. | Pressed and printed, so every piece repeats. |
The short version: a mould can copy the shape of this lamp in an afternoon. It cannot copy what light does inside hand-blown glass.

Plug-in, no bulb to buy and no wiring — the easiest kind of lighting to give to someone else.
Housewarming
Warm light with nothing to install — it works the moment the box is open.
Wedding or anniversary
A pair, one for each nightstand, in hand-blown glass rather than something mass-produced.
Birthday or holiday
Small enough to wrap, good-looking enough to sit out all year.

Care
A Soft Cloth Is All It Needs
| The glass | Wipe with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth. Unplug first, and avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the lamp. |
| The wood | Dust with a dry cloth. Keep water and harsh polishes off the finish; a little furniture wax once a year keeps the grain rich. |
| The LED | Integrated and long-lasting — there is no bulb to change. |
| Placement | Keep it out of direct afternoon sun on a windowsill; strong sunlight slowly fades any wood finish. |
